The first digital transformer station of 330 kV / 110 kV in Europe and in the world

Minsk, 9. 1. 2018

Janez Škrabec, director and co-owner of the company Riko and Deputy Director General of the large-scale construction company RUP Mogilevenergo Nikolai Mihajlovič Mažar, signed a contract in Minsk. Riko is to renew their Mogilev-330 transformer station for Mogilevenergo, which will after reconstruction become the first digital transformer station of 330 kV / 110 kV in the world. Digital current transformers will be used for this transformer station  and all communication between the equipment and the protection will be carried out through optical connections (classically conducted by copper conductors).

This is the first contract between Riko and RUP Mogilevenergo, which is one of the six state energy companies in the Republic of Belarus.

The signing of the contract between RUP MOGILEVENERGO and Riko was certainly brought about by the  positive experience of the company RUP Minskenergo, which is responsible for the supply and distribution of electricity and heat in the City of Minsk and produces 40% of all electricity in Belarus. For Minskenergo, Riko has successfully built or renovated already 13 transformer stations with a voltage of 110/10 kilovolts. Riko has also signed a contract for the reconstruction of the Belorusskaya transformer station, which will operate at a nominal voltage of 750 kilovolts, which is a great exception in Europe.

The deadline for the construction of the transformer station is 42 months. Many Slovenian companies will participate in the project, including Sipro Engineering with its engineering, design and consulting services and Kolektor Etra with the supply and installation of power transformers  200 MVA 330 kV / 110 kV / 10 kV.
