Construction of Volkovo sewage works progressing

In the in , one of the most modern sewage treatment plants in the is being built by the company Hidroinženiring in cooperation with Riko. Construction works began at the end of last year, and will be finished in 2012.
The construction is progressing as planned and according to the time schedule. After excavation work has been completed, we are successfully building the concrete construction of all units, including the biological reactor tank, the administrative building as well as the technological unit.

The Volkovo sewage works are characterized by quality and efficient technology preventing the danger of wastewater discharge from individual sceptic tanks or pits into the groundwater or bodies of water. The wastewater treatment plant will purify the wastewater from the communities of Kisela Jabuka, Stopanski Dvor and Volkovo in an efficient manner. 

The Volkovo sewage works project is financed by the Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning of the , with additional funds provided by the Slovene Centre for International Cooperation and Development.
