The Ivanovo textile mill for special fabric is already under construction. The project investor is the manufacturing company Ivanovo from Kokhm, Ivanovo Oblast in the Russian Federation, while the construction of the factory will be entrusted to Riko d.o.o. This project will be implemented in frames of the intergovernmental cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Slovenia.

The governor of the Ivanovo region Mikhail Menj and His Excellency Primož Šeliga, who is Slovenia’s ambassador to the Russian Federation were given the honour to lay the factory’s foundation stone.
At the ceremony the governor pointed out that this project is very important for the entire industrial sector, even for the industries outside the Ivanovo region.
This investment, he said, will create 700 new posts. The new manufacturing company will be able to produce 15 Million meters of fabric a year, therefore its capacity can be compared with the production volume of large manufacturing companies from the times of the Soviet Union, he added. According to Slovenia’s ambassador Primož Šeligo this strategically important investment is going to encourage the development of the textile industry within the region, increase the region’s competitiveness and offer new opportunities for its development.
Jozo Dragan CEO of Riko Moscow is extremely satisfied that Riko was chosen constructor and technological supplier of this strategically important plant. The construction of the production site shall be finished in the beginning of the year 2016 and will incorporate the most advanced technical equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
The contract for the construction of the Ivanovo manufacturing plant and supply of the factory’s equipment was signed at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia to the Russian Federation in May this year. End of June Slovenia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Karl Erjavec and the Russian Minister for connections and mass communication Nikolaj Nikiforov met at the Strmol castle and added this project to the list of priority projects in order to increase the bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
