Janez Škrabec awarded the Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Belarus

RIKO CEO and Honorary Consul of Belarus in Slovenia Mr Janez Skrabec was awarded today the Jubilee Medal to mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic services in Belarus. The award was presented to Mr Janez Skrabec by the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Slovenia HE. Exc Mrs. Alena Kupčina.

The Jubilee Medal was awarded to selected diplomats and foreign nationals on the anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service. The recepients of the medal are credited for contributing significantly to the development and improvement of the foreign policy and foreign economic activity of the Republic of Belarus and to the representation and protection of the rights and interests of the Republic of Belarus, its citizens and legal entities abroad. The decision to award the Jubilee Medal was taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. Janez Škrabec received the award in a small circle of distinguished guests.

In his entrepreneurial work, Janez Škrabec works as an integrator linking economic and entrepreneurial, cultural and diplomatic aspects of the environment in which he functions. In Belarus, RIKO undertakes major investment projects in the field of energy and construction. Moreover, RIKO is an important supporter of culture. Under the auspices of RIKO recognized Belarusian art groups, such as the Khoroshki State Dance Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus and others, have participated in the prestigious Ljubljana festival several times. In addition, RIKO has helped form an important bond between Belarusian and Slovenian theater groups. The SNG Drama has been a participant in theater festivals in Belarus several times, and in return, Belarusian theater groups have successfully performed in Slovenia.

In addition to being named Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Belarus in 2016, Janez Skrabec has been the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco since 2002.
