On Tuesday, 31
August 2021, Jernej Vrtovec, Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of
Slovenia and Ljiljana Herga, Director of Slovenian Directorate for
Infrastructure, accompanied by Aleš Mihelič, State Secretary at the Ministry of
Infrastructure, and Janez Škrabec, Director of Riko, marked the start of work
on the modernisation of the Pragersko junction. The event was also attended by
Stane Mlakar, Deputy Mayor of the
Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica, Matej Arnoš, President of the Municipality
of Pragersko, Karmen Furman and Mirjan Senčar as MPs and Dejan Kurkovič from
DRSI.
Riko was awarded the contract for the implementation of the
»Project for modernisation of the
Pragersko junction and railway station« through a public tender in December
2018, and the contract for the execution of the works worth € 63.2 million was
signed in 2019. After obtaining the building permit (May 2021), we started the
preparatory works for the project in early summer 2021. The project will be
completed in mid-2023.
As part of the upgrade of the Pragersko hub, the Pragersko
railway station will be renovated and modernised. The platform will receive
canopies, a new platform underpass with elevators will be built, and two
parking lots will be installed. In addition, more than two kilometres of noise
barriers will be built in the area of the station. 18 kilometres of track will
be upgraded, 30 points will be replaced, as will the traction power network and
signalling and safety equipment. A new underpass will be built under the
railway line to replace the current
level crossing, increasing traffic flow and improving road and rail safety.
The project will improve the technical and technological
parameters of the station and the junction, increase traffic safety, shorten the travel times of passenger and freight trains and reduce the negative impact on the
environment.
The works will be carried out in cooperation with SŽ ŽGP Ljubljana d.d., Tegrad d.o.o., Iskra d.o.o., Obrt-oprema
d.o.o., IMP PROMONT (imp-pro-mont.si),
Mensel, d.o.o., in drugimi.
